Bringing home the bacon…

…on laundry day.

Forget the discussion about being a housewife or a career woman. Today I realised that most of us are both, and you know what? I will never ever call myself a bad housewife again.

WORK HARD, PLAY HARD…

…IN A COMFY AND COMFORTABLE OUTFIT.

Dere vet hva de sier: Work hard, play hard…

It’s busy times here in London. Lots of work and there have even been a few drinks with friends. Let loose, with Footloose ; ) The boat still has to be moved every other week or when we run out of water. Good times. You know what they say: Work hard, play hard…

“FOR THE WISE MAN EVERY DAY IS A FESTIVAL!”

Where The Wild Roses Grow. Som Gary Clark sier: “There’s nothing like a music festival. People are ready to have a good time. I don’t think anyone comes to a festival going, ‘I’m gonna be a complete bummer today.'”

We saw Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds play at the All Points East festival this weekend and I guess the photos says it all; it was fun! The highlight was definitely when Kylie Minogue came on stage and sang Where The Wild Roses Grow. Can’t get enough of festivals! A cold beer in the sun, on the grass. As Gary Clark says: “There’s nothing like a music festival. People are ready to have a good time. I don’t think anyone comes to a festival going, ‘I’m gonna be a complete bummer today.'”

My “seize the day diet!”

CARPE DIEM!

My diet has changed lately. I tasted my first Espresso Martini and Bellini the other day, so now I only drink Espresso Martinis and Bellinis. And I eat ice-cream for breakfast. It’s called the Carpe-Diem Diet ;  )

My favourite tiger quotes…

GO GET ‘EM TIGER!

I’m still not completely sure if this cardigan has a tiger or zebra pattern? What do you think? Anyway, here are some of my favourite tiger quotes:

“Life is like a wild tiger. You can either lie down and let it lay its paw on your head, or sit on its back and ride it.”  – Ride The Wild Tiger

“There is nothing like the thrill of walking through the jungle looking for a tiger and knowing they could be watching you already.”  – Ashlan Gorse Costeau

“In waking a tiger, use a long stick.” – Mao Zedong

I want to know…

THE INVITATION

It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for,
And if you dare to dream of meeting
Your heart’s longing.

It doesn’t interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
For love, for your dream,
For the adventure of being alive.

It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon.
I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow,
If you have been opened by life’s betrayals,
Or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain.

I want to know if you can sit with pain,
Mine or your own,
Without moving
To hide it or fade it or fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy,
Mine or your own,
If you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes
Without cautioning us to be careful, be realistic, to remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true.
I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself,
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul.
I want to know if you can be faithless and therefore be trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see beauty
Even when it is not pretty every day,
And if you can source your own life
From its presence.

I want to know if you can live with failure,
Yours and mine,
And still stand on the edge of a lake and shout to the silver of the full moon,
“Yes!”

It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair,
Weary and bruised to the bone,
And do what needs to be done for the children.

It doesn’t interest me who you are, how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
In the center of the fire with me
And not shrink back.

It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you
From the inside
When all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone
With yourself,
And if you truly like the company you keep
In the empty moments.

Silver shoes in Chelsea Harbour

London

IMG_0064.JPG

SUMMER O’HOY

See the silver shoes I’m wearing? My boyfriend wondered why I kept stumbling. – It’s because the shoes are a size too big, I explained. They were only 5€ on Gran Canaria, and there was only one pair left, so it’s worth a little stumbling. – I see, he said and suggested, – Maybe lift your legs when strolling? Then we walked on, admired the boats and said hello to another retired couple.

GOOD TIMES

Snø i mars i London?

Am I the only one with a “psychological cold” from this weather? Snow in March in London? What happened there? But I know a trick I’d like to share; close your eyes and think about a completely carefree moment you’ve experienced…
