YOU’RE THE ONE WHO HAS TO LIVE IT…
And you actually have the right to do what you want, not what other people want you to do. Hm…I wish I’d though of that sooner ; ) The thing is that going your own way is easier said than done and sometimes it can be quite confusing when someone insists on what’s right for you. So here are a few quotes that may come in handy in those situations:
“You are not required to set yourself on fire to keep other people warm.”
“Don’t let a label someone else stamped on you become your reality.” – Skip Prichard
“If you don’t value your time, neither will others. Stop giving away your time and talents. Value what you know and start charging for it.” – Kim Garst
“Don’t let the people who didn’t see your value, cause you to forget how much you are truly worth.”
“If you aren’t being treated with love and respect, check your price tag. Maybe you’ve marked yourself down. It’s you who tells people what you’re worth. Get off the clearance rack and get behind the glass where they keep the valuables.”
“Don’t think about your errors or failures; otherwise, you’ll never do a thing.” – Bill Murray.
I’ve been thinking a lot about being good enough lately; a good enough friend, a good enough daughter, a good enough step-mother, a good enough girlfriend, a good enough employee, a good enough film-maker, a good enough person, but I’ve come to the conclusion that if it’s good enough for me then it’ll just have to be good enough.
It’s Friday! Time to make stories for Monday.
I find it hard to take in but it seems like this summer may have come to an end. This is when all the boaters start to stock up on wool, coal and wood… It’s time to prepare for our fourth winter on the boat… soon this red dress will be replaced by a survival suit… but not yet, not today and not tomorrow.
“Don’t forget to pretend to have your shit together for strangers on the internet today”
HERE TODAY, GONE TOMORROW
When people ask me what it’s like to live on a boat I say, “It’s different.” “What’s so different about it?” And since they ask I sum up the long, boring, explanatory list about electricity, water, internet, the toilet-situation and by this they always seem to regret even asking. But when we come to the part about being continuous cruisers they seem light up again. You see, this is the best part, the moving around part. Every 7th to 14th day we have to move on, depending on where we have been moored, and that’s what makes life like a box of chocolates – you never know what you’re gonna get…
QUOTE OF THE DAY
“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow.”
This bag is from the pound shop and will help me use less plastic bags. We’re going to carry a lot of groceries together; this bag that isn’t Chanel and I.
WORD OF THE DAY
Stop trying to make everybody happy. You’re not tequila.
