I’ve been thinking a lot about being good enough lately; a good enough friend, a good enough daughter, a good enough step-mother, a good enough girlfriend, a good enough employee, a good enough film-maker, a good enough person, but I’ve come to the conclusion that if it’s good enough for me then it’ll just have to be good enough.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
“Don’t think about your errors and failures; otherwise, you’ll never do a thing,” said Bill Murray
QUOTE OF THE DAY
“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking and don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart… you’ll know when you find it.” – Steve Jobs
It’s Friday! Time to make stories for Monday.
I find it hard to take in but it seems like this summer may have come to an end. This is when all the boaters start to stock up on wool, coal and wood… It’s time to prepare for our fourth winter on the boat… soon this red dress will be replaced by a survival suit… but not yet, not today and not tomorrow.
“All that matters is that you know who you are. Let other people keep on wondering.”
HERE TODAY, GONE TOMORROW
When people ask me what it’s like to live on a boat I say, “It’s different.” “What’s so different about it?” And since they ask I sum up the long, boring, explanatory list about electricity, water, internet, the toilet-situation and by this they always seem to regret even asking. But when we come to the part about being continuous cruisers they seem light up again. You see, this is the best part, the moving around part. Every 7th to 14th day we have to move on, depending on where we have been moored, and that’s what makes life like a box of chocolates – you never know what you’re gonna get…
SUNNY DAYS ON THE GRAND UNION CANAL
Life is full of surprises…. I used to have a six-pack, now I have a family on a boat in London ; )
